Why I’m voting for Gary Johnson in 2016: ‘He’s not a Democrat, he’s not the Republican’
- by admin
Former New Mexico Gov.
Gary Johnson has been on the ballot in three states this year, but in all three cases, his name was not listed on the ballots.
His name appears on a ballot in the District of Columbia, a ballot for Nevada, and a ballot to replace the incumbent Democratic president in the Electoral College.
Johnson has said that he intends to run for president again in 2020.
He has a chance to become the first Libertarian to win a presidential election in the nation.
He won’t be the first to do so in the country.
The Libertarian Party was founded in 1912 in response to the emergence of social movements.
In 1964, Richard Nixon, who became the nation’s 45th president, was the Libertarian Party’s presidential nominee.
The party was founded as the Libertarian National Committee in 1972.
In 2016, Johnson won the presidential election for president by a wide margin.
He was second to Hillary Clinton in national polls, and he also was ahead in the popular vote.
Johnson’s political views have been somewhat of a surprise to many, but he’s also become a household name for his Libertarian message of limited government, limited government policies and strong economic growth.
